- Hands on implementation of UTZ program in Côte d’Ivoire and integration of innovative tools with service providers and cocoa farmer organizations’ staff (farmers, internal inspectors, IMS officers and group managers)
- Training to UTZ members’ IMS managers and UTZ service providers
- Monitoring visits to UTZ groups
- Supporting and guiding consultants
- Reporting and contributing to the project & program progress reports
- Education in agronomy/rural development/sociology or economy
- Educational level at least BAC+04 years (master or engineer equivalent)
- 5 years work experience in the cocoa sector in Côte d’Ivoire preferably related to certification and
- Internal Management Systems
- 3 years work experience with smallholders/farmers groups and/or community-based organizations
- Ability to introduce organizational changes
- Ability to facilitate training sessions
- Familiar with use of IT technology and system applications
- Pro-active and innovative thinker
- Fluent in French, able to communicate in English (written, verbal) and the local language (verbal)
- Willingness to work and travel independently, spend significant time in the rural areas and live in Abengourou

The UTZ team in Côte d’Ivoire offers a program to better serve its cocoa members in lin e with UTZ vision and
innovations. As a Program Officer you will be responsible for the implementation of the UTZ program in your
assigned province(s) and for training among others using an online learning platform (the UTZ Academy
Online).
You will work closely with local cooperatives and farmer groups in supporting the UTZ program and piloting
innovations on the ground. You will report hierarchically to the UTZ Regional Representative for West Africa
based in Abidjan.

Employment is based upon a 40 hours/week, a one year contract with an option to extend. UTZ provides a dynamic and international working environment with an entrepreneurial and innovative approach. Given the composition of the team women are especially encouraged to apply. Starting date of the assignment is foreseen as soon as possible.
