IT APPLICATION SUPPORT OFFICER
Primary Role – Application Support:
- Delivering support to existing business users and investigating and resolving application errors, data discrepancies and queries;
- Working with the Business users in identifying and proposing application system changes, better uses, enhancements and developments and liaising with appropriate vendors and other IT team members
Application support
- Receive and log requests users
- Investigate problems and other requests for support and determines appropriate actions to take.
- Prioritises requests in accordance with agreed criteria and with reference to the Business Systems
Support Analyst
- Monitor progress of requests for support and ensure users and other interested parties are kept informed.
- Provide correct responses to requests for support by means of for example: making modifications to system parameters, suggesting work-arounds
- Training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests to software suppliers.
- Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
- Support interfaces of the application with weighbridge / other systems
- Monitor application systems for which responsible by regular scrutiny of reports from the applications software.
- Note problems and identify performance trends. Where approved, take corrective action to improve performance and to avoid problems arising;
- Liaise with software suppliers on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfill user requirements. ;
- Document work, take part in user meetings and assist in presenting issues and solutions both orally and in writing. Assists in defining acceptance tests for new or changed automated system
Secondary Role – IT Infra Support:
- Well versed with all kinds of hardware & software trouble shooting issues, Networking maintenance, plan maintenance activities regularly. He will independently handle internet bandwidth allocation , Firewall deployment and maintenance, ensure automatic data backups , printer maintenance and coordination with external suppliers for maintenance for timely up gradation of software’s.
- Regular checks on all pcs & laptops for antivirus updating and renewals, software licenses.
- Negotiating with suppliers for spares and equipment’s related to IT
- Negotiation, finalization, installation & maintenance of all telecom equipment’s, video conference facility, bar coding, Global and Domestic MPLS
- He would be responsible for implementation of our corporate IT policy.
- IPSEC VPN knowledge along with basic routing & switching
- Monitoring of various network devices along with SNMP basic knowledge
He/She should have at least 3 years’ experience as IT application support in a large multi-product organization preferably in a multinational company. The person should be well versed in English both spoken and written.
Must be a BE/BTech in IT/Comp Science with the following certifications
- Sound knowledge of security, CCNA Security is preferable or any equivalent vendor certification.
- Microsoft Certified Professional
- Working knowledge of Database and Server Admin will be added advantage
- Should have worked on supporting any Business software application
